Garage Door Cable Repair & Replacement
The lift cables run from the bottom of the door up to the drums at either end of the spring shaft. They take a lot of abuse, and when one frays or comes off its drum the door usually goes crooked and jams in the tracks.
Cables and springs are part of the same system, so a cable that failed on its own is worth a second look — it often means a drum, a bearing, or the spring tension needs attention too.
Signs you're dealing with this
- One side of the door is higher than the other
- A loose cable hanging beside the door
- Visible fraying, kinks or rust on the cable
- The door jammed in the track and won't move either direction
- Cable has unwound off the drum at the top corner
How the visit goes

Both cables replaced as a pair
They wear at the same rate. Replacing one and leaving the other is how you end up calling again in a few months.

Drums and bearings checked
A grooved or damaged drum will chew through a brand new cable, so it gets inspected before the new cable goes on.

Door reset in the tracks
If the door came off track when the cable let go, we get it seated and running true again.
